Watering an established lawn

Hi all,

I know the best watering plan for an established lawn is weekly, deep watering.

But I was wondering how that plan changes during really hot times, when the lawn seems goes dormant? Should I still water the lawn, maybe more frequently during those times? Or is it best to let it go dormant during those really hot (90+ degree days)?

thanks

What type of grass do you have?

I'm further south and still do infrequent deep watering and my tall fescue stays green and continues growing even during the worst summer heat.
