Question hoping for grass

I have moved into a house where the lawn is nothing but weeds and have decided to till up the entire yard and spray with weed b gone then replant at a later date. am looking for any ideas on best way to spread seed and keep it from getting blown and washed away as well as how long is the best to let it grow before mowing thanks in advance

If the yard is less than 1/2 grass it's generally better to save what's there but if it's more than 1/2 weeds it's easier to nuke it and start from scratch. If it does need nuking you spray it with herbicide and make sure everything is dead, then till and plant new grass and cover with straw.

Are you sure you want to poison the environment with that? We rototilled a large section of our yard that was all weeds about a month ago. It is beautiful! we added a little black dirt. No weed killer was used and just one or two crab grass grew. Don't forget that when you use weed killer, it poisons the birds and ALL animals including humans, also poisons the water. People should not rely on poisoning the earth vs. a couple of little weeds. As I said, our lawn is thick beautiful grass.
