Zoysia Grass - resisistant to grubs? Able to be cut by electric mower?

I live in NJ, and my small (20' x 50'front lawn is in a very sunny location. I know I have a slight grub problem, grubs that are Japanese Beetles when they mature. I know because last fall I pulled up some of the dead grass and saw the little beasties...

I am thinking of taking Zoysia grass plugs from my dad's house and planting them in my lawn to someday fill the entire lawn.

Question 1) Is Zoysia grass grub resistant?

Question 2) Will my battery powered electric lawnmower be able to cut the thicker zoysia grass? (assuming I keep the blade sharp)

Thanks!!!

1. no turf is resistant to grubs. You will need to get them in check or you will not be successful. Also, zoysia is a slow growing turf and will take forever to grow in from plugs. With a lawn that small your better off sodding and having an instant yard.
2. You wont know until you try but if you mow often enough and with sharp blades it should be fine.
