Remove Previous Tree Suckers In Lawn?
Hi all,
We had a tree in our front yard (some kind of oak I'm sure, that's common in Central CA landscaping) that has been gone for about 3 years now (fell during a storm). There is no stump that remains.
However, there are dozens of suckers growing up in the grass every year.
Since I'm not worried about damaging/killing an existing tree, what is the best way to kill off those suckers with little damage to the yard?
Should I just spot spray each one with Round-Up?

Spot spraying might harm the surrounding grass. I'd use rubber gloves and a sponge dipped in the full strength liquid and wipe it on the leaves.
Either that or cut the suckers about 1/2 way up and apply the liquid directly to the cut.
I had that issue with a crepe myrtle I removed and it still took 2 years of treatments before they finally gave up the ghost.
