Help! bought some bags of river rock and can't get the sandy/muddy color off

As I stated in the title I bought 35 bags of river rock (quick create brand) and when I went to take it out to start cleaning it I just simply tried rinsing it in a bucket of water and it didn't work at all....it still has the reddish brown mud color stuck to it. Any ideas on how to get it off would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums! They are river rock. They grew up in mud and have it as part of their composite. I doubt you will be able to alter the make up. Why do you want them pristinely clean?

If you know someone with a cement mixer you can throw them in there for a while with some water. The tumbling action should knock them clean. Other than that I would give them a quick rinse and place them where you want. Mother Nature will do the final cleaning for you.

Wonder If it is rust/iron? You could test it with Iron Out, a powder in a bottle with red text at Walmart cleaning section. This is around $5( but only for testing, not safe for yard). If you are sure it is iron you can get at home depot a bottle( which cost you more) that takes iron of decorative rocks. Our well water has a lot of iron and make the pinky decorative rocks look like brown turning the sprinklers on. Using this bottle it's get the original color back and is safe for lawn.( also for pets, but read label). Good luck!
