Landscape lighting Low voltage or 120?

I'm ready to do some spot lights for a couple trees. I see there is either low voltage lighting or going directly with the 120v. I'll need to run about 100' of wire for my project. I know the 120v requires 18" minimum buried depth and typically run through conduit.

I can go either way here but if the low voltage is an easier install I'd rather do that. I think the transformer cost is pretty steep for low-voltage stuff and why going 120v may be better.

Thoughts?

Low voltage is definitely a quicker and easier install.

Something can be said for both lighting methods.
One key item is what kind of heads are you looking for ?

6 of the 50w low-voltage floods from Lowes.
Shop Portfolio Black Low-Voltage Halogen Spotlight at Lowes.com

However may spend the extra money and get LED's

That's a pretty heavy wattage load. Would require 300 watts of transformer to run them.
