DIY Sprinkler System
lawrosa - I realize your post is a couple of years old, but I am intrigued by looking at the picture of your setup.

I have a few questions that I hope you wouldn't mind answering. Where are you housing these 4 way hose bib splitters and did you connect the main line directly to your hose bib? Are you using some kind of timer system to switch from zone to zone or do all 11 zones operate at the same time? As each of the 11 hoses exits where you house them did you directly bury the line to the sprinkler head?
I appreciate any insight you can provide.
Thanks,
John

Welcom to the forums....
In an outside shed that houses my boiler, well pump, and HWH..
Yes connected to the main line.
The timer is me... I look at my watch... he he
No only one zone I turn on at a time. I have long throw heads that spray 40 ft at 4gpm.
Yes each line you see goes to a single head on all but two lines.
Along my driveway zone I run 6 sprayers and along the garden I have 4 sprayers.
If I had more GPM from the well I would run 2 or 3 at the same time but I dont have that kind of capacity...
Anyway that system lasted me two years. Those 4 way valves stuck and were hard to turn, as well as broke.
So I upgraded from this..
To traditional valves and timer. Still running one zone/head at a time... he he

GT, if you're going to do your own system and plan on using an electronic controller it's cheaper and simpler to put the valves in valve boxes out in the yard instead of running every sprinkler head as a home run from a central location. It's easier to just run one main water pipe around your lawn and bury the control cable with it. You then just install the valves were needed.
