Question Top dressing lawn

Going to be overseeding the lawn soon. Which would work best as a top dressing......compost, top soil or straw?
Thanks for any advice.

Compost. Soil is good if what you have is not good but straw is not going to help anything - that's for protecting newly seeded areas.

Without knowing the specifics of the existing lawn/soil, I'd be inclined to work compost [maybe soil] into what you have, seed and then cover with straw.

#1 Take a soil sample and have it tested to see what's needed before seeding.
No one here is going to know what your trying to work without more info.
Yard full of weeds, clay soils, full of stones, ECT.
Checked out the Scotts web site yet?
It will have all the info you will ever need.
