Sprinkler System - Valve Replacement
I have a 5-station sprinkler system, and have 2 stations not working. I already knew my master control/clock was having problems, so I replaced it yesterday. The same 2 stations are still not working. (Well, one of the two is hit and miss; sometimes it works but mostly it does not. The other of the two never works.) By "not working", I mean that they don't spray.
So I've decided I must have two bad valves. My valves are Richdel 205 APR Solenoid valves.
I'm handy with a wrench and screwdriver, but have not dug into sprinkler system valuves before.
What do I need to know to be sure I buy the right replacement? Are they all the essentially the same? Or what specs do I need to pay attention to?
Also, is there anything I need to be wary of as I perform the replacement?
Thanks for the help.

Replacing the valve would not be my first step. Have you checked the wiring at the solenoids for corrosion? Have you disassembled and cleaned the valves? Unless your valve body is cracked or otherwise damaged I'd give it an overhaul with a new diaphragm and solenoid.

Where you get it depends on who sells that brand but you can find anything on the Internet if you search.

Hi Samby.... welcome to the forums.
Probably best to start a new thread and describe your problem if you need our help.

Solved
Thanks to the help from this forum, I did solve this problem.
I had two valves acting up. One just needed cleaning. After I pulled it apart and rinsed the parts, I could not find anything wrong, no symptoms of a bad solenoid, so I put it back together and it worked fine.
On the other valve, I took it apart and found the diaphragm had fallen apart. I bought a new diaphragm from a sprinkler parts shop in town (something like $8), and installed it.
Now the whole system is working like it's supposed to.
Thank you to Pilot Dane, who gave me good guidance.
