Shallow French drain with gravel movement
Hi! We moved into our new construction house in August and right away noticed a small "stream" in our backyard. The water ended up having no where to go, therefore killing the sod. Our builder attempted to have a French drain installed. It is very shallow and the sod is directly on top of the gravel. It has been installed for 2 months now and when we walk across the backyard and step on that area it still squishes and we can feel and hear the gravel move. Is this normal? It doesn't feel very sturdy for the middle of our backyard.

Am I to understand that the sod was placed directly over the gravel
that grass won't thrive! It is normal for gravel to have some movement. How shallow is the drain?
