Could it be cinquefoil? It kind of looks like pics I've found online, but I'm not certain.

No. It doesn't resemble cinquefoil at all. Looks like garlic mustard to me. You could wait and see if it blooms... little white flowers with 4 petals.

Mmmm... garlic mustard....

I'm hungry for a hot dog now.

Wait, what was the question?

It's an invasive plant, but edible so get to eating.

Based on this website: http://na.fs.fed.us/spfo/invasivepla...ic-mustard.pdf

The best ways to control it are:

Glyphosate (the active ingredient in many commercial brands) is most commonly used to
control garlic mustard.
• Triclopyr (the active ingredient in many commercial brands) also is widely used.
• 2,4-D alone gives inconsistent control, but a 1% solution of 2,4-D plus Dicamba applied to
the foliage of young plants is effective.

It's my understanding that Glyphosate kills everything, including grass, so I would only want to use that on the area at the edge of my woods where there is no grass. The 2,4-D I would use to spot kill the weeds that randomly pop-up in the yard itself, correct?

Thank you.

Yes, but I don't think I would worry too much about that weed in a lawn. As long as you keep it mowed, it can't flower, go to seed, and spread. It would be more effective to pull it unless your yard is full of it.

Ok that's great. It's not too bad throughout the yard, so I'll try pulling them or just mowing them, and then I'll use something 'harsh' for the ones in the edge of the woods.

Sorry, one more question; would you recommend the Glyphosate or Triclopyr (for area along the woods)? There's probably other weeds/brush that I wouldn't mind killing along with the garlic mustard.

Compare-N-Save Concentrate Grass and Weed Killer, 41-Percent Glyphosate, 1-Gallon

Southern Ag Crossbow Specialty Herbicide 2 4 D & Triclopyr Weed & Brush Killer, 32oz - 1 Quart
