Looking for shrubs that don't grow too high, and don't need much sun

Hi. We're looking for shrubs that grow to somewhere between 2' and 4', and don't require much sun. They would get a few hours in the morning, then it's mostly shade the rest of the day.

We're in zone 6 (southwestern CT).

Probably prefer an evergreen type and was thinking of some of the following (that I found online), but not sure if we have enough sun for them:

Fire Chief Arborvitae
Pimoko Spruce Tree Form
Little Gem Norway Spruce
Hetz Midget Thuja
Crimson Pygmy Barberry

Prefer something that doesn't flower, but not a deal-breaker.

Thanks for any/all suggestions!

When I needed shrubbery I stopped by at my local nursery. They knew what grew in my soil and here's the biggie..... which ones were semi deer resistant.

(I've got a lot of deer in my area and they eat almost everything)
