Anybody know what this weed is? Nutsedge?

Can't decide if it's weird grass or the beginning of nutsedge

Thanks!

The individual one is just plucked out of the bigger photo.

The first photo appears to be the seed stalk from grass and the second photo is mostly grass though I do see some weeds in the left hand part of the picture.

Thank you very much. Fingers crossed it's just grass... (not counting those few weeds).

I have a ton of this stuff popping up this year so I'm really hoping it's just grass.

Thanks and that actually makes sense as I did some overseeding last fall with an extra helping of 31 Fescue along with my usual seed mix.

I assume that after a couple more mowings it'll look like normal grass (i.e. the 'heads' will get cut off)?

They'll seed like that in the spring. If my wife doesn't fuss too much I like to let my grass grow a little tall in the spring and take the benefit of the free seeds. Both mowing and time will eliminate the seed heads.

How do you differentiate this normal grass from annual bluegrass weed ? That weed seems to look similar to this pic at least to me.

Since we are presented with limited information... we don't know. All we have to go by is what the poster gives us and it is difficult/impossible to make a 100% determination. Someone on site that can actually look at and touch the plant needs to confirm it's identity.
