What is this yellow stuff in my landscaping?

I have attached two pictures of this yellow "stuff" i am finding in an area of my front landscaping. What the heck is it!?

- Started noticing it yesterday
- thought it was dog vomit or something, but it keeps coming back after hosing it down (unless a dog is coming back and vomiting more after i leave...)
- have hosed it away twice.

Well crap--just found this via google:

FAQ - Sometimes I get mold on top of my mulch. What is it, and is it harmful? : | Greenville, Spartanburg, Boiling Springs, SC | Southern Mulch

So i'm guessing the hosing w/ water is making it worse.

Best thing to do is scoop it up and throw it away so new spores can't spread.

Thanks--i'll try that when i get home today. Has to be better than pushing it around with a water-hose!

Yea, hitting it with the water hose is about the worst thing you can do. I'm sure it's thanking you for helping it spread. Luckily the most harm it does is stick to your shoe when you step in it.
