Question Automatic Sprinklers

Hello.

I am having an issue with my automatic sprinkling system. I have searched but it seems most of the similar issues involve a station not turning off and the solenoid being stuck open.

My issue is a bit different. I have 4 valves/zone and my controller can program up to 6 zones. When I set up my program, the last zone does not automatically turn off. I have to switch the controller to the off position to get it to stop. I have set a couple of the zones to be the last one running and it does the same thing.

Any thoughts and help are appreciated.

It's not a zone problem it's a controller problem.

A make and model would be helpful.

Take the wire on zone 4 and try it on 5 or 6 and see if problem continues. Possible just one zone went bad.

Thank you for the response. The controller is a Hunter PC-300i.
I am not sure changing the wire to a different zone will work but I will give it a try. I thought a zone might be broke so I originally had it set for 1 2 3 4. Each for 15 minutes and start times 15 min apart. Then I tried 1 4 3 2. In both cases the last station (4 then 2) is what stayed on until I flipped the switch to off.

Thanks again for helping

If you continue to have trouble try programming a fifth zone that is not wired to anything. That way the last zone to run will always be the unused one so if it stays on it won't matter. The big question is will it reset when the next watering time comes around.
