Should I put straw mulch over Pennington One step?

I've got some straw mulch called Mainly Mulch and am wondering if it's a good idea to put it down over my new section that I just did with Pennington One Step grass seed.

The Pennington has a mulch in it of course, but it's not that thick really.

Nope, no straw would be my vote as well.

Mulch could be too heavy and smothering especially if it got watered down then baked by hot, direct sun. Straw would also be my pick.

if you put down real straw, it will work good to keep seed moist but you will get a lot of weeds.

Not sure what Mainly Mulch is but they sell bails of chopped straw that has tack, basically glue, and is weed free. Great stuff for patches and small areas, would be too pricey for an entire yard.

Lawn produces 2X the grass using that vs nothing! And no seeds!!
