What weed is this?

Thanks in advance for any help!

It's cropping up all over my southwestern CT lawn.

Thanks!

Has any of it gone to flower? If so what color are the flowers?

I haven't seen any flowers. I've googled the heck out of this, tried a couple of apps, etc.. and I can't figure out what it is. I keep finding things that are close, but not quite right...

So we found some more (larger ones) and this photo does show 'something' (little red things). Not really a flower per se, but maybe it will be?

I think it's Three Seeded Mercury (Acalypha).

There are 2 photos of it here if you scroll way down.

Check out the side "flowers" it gets along the stem... that's a good way to i.d. it.

Awesome, thanks!

I also heard back from someone else who told me it might be Virginia copperleaf. Virginia copperleaf, like three seeded mercury, appears to be a type of acalypha as well.
