Advice for recycled/broken concrete patio

Hi,
Just wondering what's the best material to put as a base for a patio made from broken concrete and what to put in between the pieces?

I live in Toronto, Canada, so I'm worried about the pieces being uneven when the ground thaws after winter.

My plan is to use limestone screening for the base to put the broken concrete pieces on and then polymeric sand in between the pieces. Any feedback on whether that is a good idea or not would be helpful. Thanks!

Look up how to make a paver patio. The requirements will be the same. But, it all has to do with how long you want the patio to last. The key is in the base. You can just lay pieces down on the ground but they'll move around and it will look rough after a season or two but the more you get your base to "proper" the longer your patio will look good.
