Irrigation pressure reducing valve fail

Hello all,

I went outside to take the garbage out about a week ago and my valve was spewing water. I turned the valve off and then turned it back on to show you what it's doing in this video.

What has happened here? Is it broke? I am in Knoxville TN.

Can anyone please help? My grass is dying.

I attached a video in the post that shows what happens when the valve is turned on.

That's a backflow preventer valve. From what I remember.... some of those valves have specific orientation instructions because of a floating ball system inside the valve. In other words..... "install - this end up".

I just installed this back in March . . how is it possible that it has already failed? I am sure the orientation is correct.
