Is this quack grass?
For several years, doing battle with this persistent invasive in my NY lawn.
Deep connecting roots and appearance have led me to believe this is quack grass(?)
Conclusion also based on my experience fighting this adversary, and quack grass being described as "one of the most difficult weeds to get rid of".
Just looking to verify conclusion correct: this is quack grass

Never heard that name before but appears to be a grass. Shot of Round up to kill and after a couple months the surrounding grass will fill in the dead spot.

Thanks for your reply-
Apparently quack grass is common, based on google search-
No Chemical Warfare for the entire lawn kills it since it's a grass.
Have been digging it up, but the root system/rhizomes make that futile.
Therefore, if this IS quack grass, you are correct -Roundup is the only option.

Around here, we pour RoundUp into a cup and use a brush to paint the leaves of the offending grass so only the bad stuff dies.
