Easiest possible solution

Hey all,

just removed a TON of rotting and poorly structured landscaping/flower boxes from around my house. they were a pest haven and impossible to maintain. anyway, now i have the situation indicated by the attached pics.

I'm looking for the easiest and fastest possible mulching solution for this situation. can i just clean this up a little and throw down some fabric and some rock and call it quits?

My yard is very uneven. You can't tell from the pictures, but the exposed "under ground" gutter draining in the picture is at the same level as the rest of the yard (if that matters).

Ideally, the grade around the foundation would have a 1:10 slope. But yes, putting down a good quality fabric, then rock would give you a low maintenence perimeter. You might consider some type of edging to create a border... either pavers or plastic. Either way, dig the rock down deeper at the edging so you can set the edging low enough to mow over, it will save a lot oft trimming.
