Do I need to water my lawn when temperature drops to 30-55?

I was wondering if I can or should water my lawn when the temperature drops to 30-39 at night and 40-55 day time. And the same thing goes with the new sod?

No, you do not need to water an established lawn when it's that cold. Sod will require more water but the amount depends on exactly how long the sod has been down.

The sod has been down for about two weeks and half.

If you have standing water in your irrigation system when the temp goes below 32 degrees, your system will have many cracked hoses so you won't be able to water anyway. Shut the water supply off for the season and have the system purged (air pressure from a commercial compressor).

You should be well into reducing the watering for your sod anyhow. I would check on it every couple days and only water as needed. But, this late in the season it won't need much water.

Alright, thank you so much for the tips. Yes, a commercial lawn care who installed my irrigation system will be over this Friday to purge it for the winter.
