Thumbs up Tip speed

I have a 54" Poulan riding mower which I have come to love( Strangelove syndrome) my question is , can I speed up the blades 10%? It doesn't seem to have the cutting ability of the Zero turns( it does have a reinforced deck)

I'd try changing the blades to Gator style blades before I'd be messing with the drive system.
Any OEM blade I've ever seen was the cheapest one they could find.
You can go on this website to find out which one you need, try to find the part# for the G6 blade.
It's thicker and has a much harder cutting edge.

Once I have the part # I order them from Agri Supply or Ebay.

+1 on the Gator-style blades. Among other benefits, they are heavier and the added mass means the blades don't slow down so much when they meet resistance (i.e., grass).

I also use gator blades, they chop the grass into smaller pieces, and quoting them "they bag more". The design also throughs the grass further in my case into the bag. I also use accelerators which helps throw also and helps to pick up acorns, which is a big help.
