Until you can post the pic, do you know what kind of grass(es) you have in your lawn?

We need to know what type of grass you have in your lawn and it would also help to know where you are located. Do you have dead circles, dark green rings or round tufts of grass?

Thanks! Your first picture is exactly what I want to ask.
Tall Fescue tufts in lawn.
Does it mean they are not normal grass and should be removed? Thanks!

Tall fescue is a perfectly fine grass but it doesn't play well with others - one basically needs to have only tall fescue or some other type of grass instead as the fescue grows in clumps like that with other grasses present in the lawn.

It just goes to show that a weed is simply any plant you don't want.

What type of grass is the rest of your lawn? Depending on what you have there might be a herbicide that you could spray. Or, you can simply dig out the offending patches.
