Should I do any prep work now or in Spring ?

3 months ago did a major job in the backyard.... leaving a large part of my lawn completely "destroyed" . SO far just dumped a fresh top soil and re-graded the area.... Of course it is way too late for seeding grass so my question is; Should I do anything now, like spread weed killer, any special preen ? Or should I just wait for early Spring and only then start applying products a few weeks before it gets warm and before I seed a new lawn ? If you recommend Option 2 - is there anything I should do for the Winter? Just top soil for 3-4 months...I think it would cause some erosion and possibly it's not good for my house as this large area with no grass would be subject to quick water penetration + washing out all the nutrients etc ?? Repairing dry weed patches in the grass.

Hello, I have kind old grass in my backyard, and last year summer to fall everything was green and nice "grass and the some weeds" , now over the winter looks like the grass stayed green but the weeds patches kind dry out till i guess spring when they will comeback green again. My question is: what should i use to get everything back green again?
