I recently had two very large black oaks removed which appears to have contributed to the heavy moss growth on the roof. Other houses do not have this issue so I believe it to be related to the trees which extended over my roof. I was easily able to remove them with a light movement of my finger but concerned a house will hurt the roof which is nearly 25 years old. I cannot reach the moss so I must use a hose and power washer if I want to remove the moss. Any concerns with this approach? I don't really mind leaving it up and dealing with it during roof replacement at some point if it is just visual.

My sprinkler system has been working fine for a while, but one of the zones (back yard) stopped working. It doesn’t start automatically or manually. I switched the wires from this zone to another and the back yard still doesn’t turn on but the front yard connected to the back yard zone works fine, so the controller is OK. I checked the wires on the other end and they looked a little corroded so I cut them back and spiced them again, and still no luck. I can manually turn the water on by turning the handle. What should I check next? It’s a Rainbird system. Pick attached.
