recessed ceiling lights
I have two can lights that go on & off periodically on their own when the power is on. I assume this is a heat related short. Is there a way to repair or replace these without cutting into the ceiling? There is no access from above.

This is the thermal cutout doing its job, which is to prevent overheating. Check the fixture to see which trims and bulbs are listed for use in it. You may just be able to install a smaller, lower wattage bulb.
