Post light

I had to replace a post light today. The out door wire was cut so I butt sliced the wires back together, heat shinked each wire, then with a larger heat shink in when over everything, put it in a piece of plastic conduit and sealed the end. Any other suggestions?

That's essentially what a UF cable splice kit does, which is what most people would use to do that job.

I change it to a UF splice kits. Do they make a reliable connection? The heat shrink put out a lot glue which seems good. Should keep out the moisture.
