Hampton bay & Kichler ceiling fans
I'm looking for information on these designer name brands that make ceiling fans. Simple searches on Google and Yahoo are fruitless - I can't even find the respective corporate websites, and there are 0 items on e-bay for the term kichler ceiling fan. Anyone know a definitive/authority website I can check out for information on these fans?

Hampton Bay is the house brand for Home Depot. Although I have a slight preference for Hunter (also sold at Home Depot), most of the reports I've heard about Hampton Bay have been from satisfied customers. Many of the negative reports are from people who believe that everything sold at Home Depot is junk.

And then...
Okay, thanks for the info. I didn't know that Hampton Bay was the house brand of Home Depot. However, what about Kicheler fans? Details on this brand are very hard to come by; I can't even find a single product for sale on the entire 'net

Harbor Breeze Fans
Harbor Breeze is a in house brand for Lowes, made be Litex. Most of there fans have a lifetime motor warranty. I have one and it is great no problems.
Kichler mostly makes light fixtures but make some fans to match some of the lights they have. They also have a lifetime warranty, and very pricey!

Markis - Kichler Fans are sold exclusively through Lowe's. The lighting products sold in Lowes are also exclusive designs, and Lowe's is not able to order Kichler products from their main (higher end) line. The lighting showrooms that carry the main Kichler line area are not able to buy the Lowe's products or fans...mutual exclusivity

I'm a first-time poster to this forum, so please forgive any bloopers. I've received 3 Hampton Bay cieling fans as a gift (no packaging or documentation). Now I'm trying to have them installed, and my contractor says a parts list and install guide would be helpful.
They're not current models, so Home Depot can't help. I got the number for Hampton Bay from their special order people, and Hampton Bay says that from the UPC, these are made by Compass East, and they gave me their number. Compass East said since they're not a current model, THEY can't help.
All 3 have the same model number, OD 552 CB (CH) WHT. Two of them have lights, but the 3rd (same model) does not. Can someone help me get info on these fans? I've exhausted my resources, including the web.
Thanks!!!

What info do you need? Do you just want installation instructions? Since 99% of all fans install exactly the same way, we can probably walk you through it without the instructions. Once you've installed about three fans, they begin to all look alike. Has your contractor installed any fans before?

Parts list would be great...Install guide even better
Thanks for the quick response John! I was hoping you'd be the one to respond.
My contractor has been at this for decades, so he could probably "jury-rig" the fans, but I'd feel more comfortable having at least a parts list. It's more for my benefit than his.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Liz

If installing these fans without documentation makes you nervous enough, you might be surprised at how cheaply you can just buy three new ones. By the way, nobody should jury-rig anything. If the contractor is not 100% sure he's doing it exactly right, find somebody else.

I showed my 12 year old how to install ceiling fans. Now when he works with me I let him do them. I would hope that the contractor would be able to figure it out without instructions.
Like John said, most fans install the same way. I have only had to check the instructions for 1 fan in the last 10 years or so. The rest take me about 20 minutes to assemble and wire.
