Kichler Ceiling Fan

Help !!! I have hooked up the ceiling fan but it does not work. All the wireing is fine. In the book it says something about a Dip Switch. I have no idea what that is. In the book it says "set dip switch number to be the same of reciver and transmitter. Well both the reciver and the transmitter are the same , but I have no idea what the dip switch is. Does anyone have any idea what it is and what to do? Thanks.

A dip switch is a really small switch that you usually flip with something like a pencil point. You usually have to open up the transmitter and receiver to see them. There are usually four on a ceiling fan, providing for 16 different codes. The codes are usually set to match at the factory, so it is rare that the consumer needs to mess with them.

Although you could have a dip switch issue, there are other potential problems too. The pull chains might be set wrong, the batteries might be dead, the wall switch might be off.

You assert that the wiring is "fine", but if you ever come to doubt that assertion, post back.

If the dip switch is the thing inside the transmitter and receiver that has numbers on it like 1234 and has little switches above the numbers, I made sure that they matched. Also this model has no pull chains. It is Model#35000 Item #108354. The wiring is perfect. Black to black, white to white, green to green.

Are there just one wire of each color coming from the ceiling? Strangely enough, black-to-black and white-to-white isn't always correct.

Is the wall switch on?

Can you measure voltage between the black and white wires at the ceiling?

If the answers to all three of these questions is "yes", then the fan might be defective.

The model number and item number are incomplete information. Who makes this fan and where did you buy it?
