Question Ceiling Fan Wiring Question

Hi,

I am a new homeowner and installed a ceiling fan where a chandelier used to be. The ceiling fan is now controlled by a single dimmer, which I know is a no no, having read other posts. Currently both the motor and light dim by using the dimmer switch. Is there any way that I can replace the dimmer switch with a different switch that will allow me to keep power flowing to the fan, yet dim the light? I have no way of getting new wires to the box above the ceiling fan, so I don't think I'll be able to set-up two switches. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

hi
You need 3 wire to be able to do this
in your switch there should be 1 red 1 white and 1 black to be able to have 2 switch. If you have only 2 wire at the fan box you cant

sorry

Buy a Hunter 27186. About $40. It'll do everything you want with the wires you have.
