Exclamation Recessed Lighting Problem

Today my wife was chaning a bulb in our kitchen recessed lighting. She twisted the bulb so that it broke loose from the threaded seat and the light popped. All six bulbs went out.

I removed the old part, put in a new bulb and rese the breaker, but none of the lights work.

Is it likely that I have a screwed up canister (is there a transformer) or a screwed up switch.

The light was the first one in line from the breaker box.

Thanks,

Was the breaker tripped? When you reset it, did you first push it all the way to the off position and then back to the on position?

There are a number of possible failures to consider. The two most common are the possibility of a tripped GFCI somewhere, and the possibility of an open neutral. Can you tell us everything that is now without power? Then shut off the breaker and tell us everything without power when you do that.

Tell us exactly what kind of bulb this is.
