I would like to connect two flourescent light to one switch, but have the swith at the end of the run. I'm getting the main power off of a junction box. I have the power going from junction box to light one. Black Power IN to White ongoing wire, white IN to white fixture, and black ongoing to black fixture. This works fine. The problem is that the light between here and the switch will not light with any combination of wiring that I have tried. Do I have to put the power to the switch instead and just reverse my run?

I ave a basment staircase that is quite dark and could really use some sort of lighting. Their is not enough head room for an overhead light, and not really enough width to comfortablly accomodate a wall sconce. So......I was wondering if anyone knows of a recessed lighting product that I can install along the stairs, near the treads. Obviously something small. I found some small recessed halogen lights (meant for under cabinet use) tha tI thought might work but there are some wiring issues, and I am afraid that they will get too hot (as halogen lamps tend to do) Thanks for any suggestions.
