Recessed halogen lights

Hello, I purchased some 50watt halogen recessed lights for my basement. th way they can be mounted is a hole cut in to the sheetrock and the can slid into the hole and it rests on the sheetrock. My question is, how does one wire these? Do i need to mount a box to the floor joists and then have a wire coming from the box to power the light? I am going to be installing about 20 of these and no where on the lights are there directions on how to wire them. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

There should be a wiring compartment as part of the fixture, isn't there? If so, no other box is needed. The wiring compartment in the fixture is the box.
