Recessed lights with crown moulding

I have a 28 inch wide sofit around an entire room. Using crown moulding on the wall, and cove moulding on the sofit edge, where do I center the lighting can? From the wall to sofit edge (ignore mouldings)? From top of crown moulding to sofit edge? or moulding to moulding? In the rough it's hard to imagine the drywall and mouldings. Thanks

It's going to come down to what looks right to yo, but if it were mine I'd center them between the crown molding and the end of the soffit; ignoring the cove molding.

That's if you are going to have the downlight point down. If they are to be used as wall washers, then I'd put them as close to the edge of the soffitt as possible.

4" downlights, I assume?
