ceiling fan wall mount and existing wall switch
I am considering purchasing a ceiling fan with light. It is capable of using a remote control as well as a wall mounted control. My question is: Can the wall mount control replace the existing room switch that now controls the split wall sockets in the room, or do I need an additional wall mount control just for the ceiling fan and light?

If you use the wall control for the light you can replace the contol of the receptacles with contol of the light. You must have a switch that controls the light(ceiling or lamp) when you enter the room.
