Recessed fluorescent lighting
I am thinking about using 13 watt recessed fluorescent cans in my basement remodel vs. 60 watt incandescent cans (can save over 1000 watts). The cans are more expensive, but the $$ on electric will be worth it in the long run. Does anyone have any opinions on this? Any tips on placement or how many watts of light per square foot are needed?

I'd say go for it. A bulb will run longer too.
For calculating, I think 13W CF might be equal to 100W inc.
