Light installation killed entire room

I was replacing two light fixtures in our small bathroom. I have installed light fixtures before and followed the same technique. While installing, I heard a pop sound. The overhead light (not being replaced) when out. No fuse has blown but even the outlet in the bathroom is not working. I tried resetting the outlet but to no avail. Any suggestions aside from calling in a professional?

Sounds like you tripped a GFCI. If the condition that tripped it is not cleared then it will not reset.

extra light and a switch

hello, in my home i have an attic that we want to use for storage, but there is no light I was wondering what it took to install a light or 2, both with switches. There is wiring from other lights in the actual house on the floor of the attic covered in insulation, but i dont want to split that to the light, i want it seperate so i can turn the light on and off when i'm in the attic. Thank you very much.

Hello, I am new to the fix it your self world. My pull chain for my ceiling fan broke or actually came loose from the ceiling fan, How hard is it to replace the chain/unit that controlls the light. which is currently off. Thanks :wall: :wall:
