How to install a chandelier motor?

I am intending to purchase a new house that has a cathedral ceiling. The owner removed chandelier. I intended to install one with a motor from the attic so that it will be easire for future maintenance. Where can I find this kind of motor and fittings? Is it something of DIY? Thank you in advance.

They are available from your local lighting retailer/wholesaler. You could install it if your pretty mechanincal, or just ask them for a good reference for a qualified electrician. I usuall install the control in a closet nearby. Sometimes the cabling and install can be a challenge, it all depends on the attic space, and what kid of luminaire you are hanging.

Thumbs up

Thank you, tnecontractor.
I believe I can do it if I see the set. I just guess I can do it without a long ladder. Maybe I have to climb up and down for a couple of times to adjust.
