Replacing ceiling pot lights

Can someone please tell me how to replace a ceiling pot light? I checked on the internet but the only information is (a) how to make marijuana plants go better or (b) what to replace pot lights with. I have a burned out pot light and am unsure how to remove the burned out bulb and replace it. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Are you talking about a recessed light?

Pot lights

Yes, these are the small pot lights that are recessed into the ceiling. There seems to be some sort of metal clip partially in front of the bulb.

Seriously? You mean there is actual metal material in the path of the bulb? Most have a trim ring around the perimeter, held up in the can by a couple of springs. But you say your bulb is blocked by some "clip" (and is the word "clip" the appropriate word you were looking for)? Either something had to unscrew or slide or pull down on springs, would be my guess. Go gingerly and try something, this way.
