Can I fix my halogen lamp?
I bought a halogen lamp (with reading lamp on the side) today at a garage sale, but when I got it home it didn't work. I changed the bulb, but it still doesn't work. (The bulb for the reading lamp is missing and I don't have another yet, maybe that is the problem?) The sticker that would tell me the model is missing, so I have nothing to go on.
Is there likely to be an easy and inexpensive fix I can do myself? If so, where should I start? Or, will it likely cost more to fix it than replace it, and I should give it up and toss it in the dumpster?
Thanks for any help!

It was in a garage sale for a reason, and you found out why. But before you toss it, check the side light. If it works, you either have a loose wire to the main light or a problem with the switch, either of which is repairable. Post back when you replace the bulb in the side light.
