Vintage Ceiling Light Installation
I recently enlarged my kitchen window, and had to have drywallers come in and -make a long story short- put in a raised ceiling and outlet box where there used to be a recessed light can. Because there's now no ceiling space, I purchased a vintage light fixture to go in it's place.
Here's my question ~ not a clue how to wire these together ~ in the ceiling, I've got 3 black wires that are together, 3 white, and 1 ground wire.
BUT, my vintage fixture has 3 black, 2 beige. That's it.
As a total dummy who can take getting shocked to get this done
versus pay an electrician, I'm confused. I've got 2 more wires coming out of the ceiling than are available in my 'new' fixture. I know that the grounding wire won't have a pair in the vintage piece ~ do I just leave this capped and tucked in? What about the others?
