LED light bulbs

I've been seeing LED light bulbs available for the past year or so. Still pretty pricey about $40 apiece - but the ones I see are about 6 watts to replace a 75 watt floodlight bulb, and last 60,000 hours.

I'm beginning to think that the electricity savings and the long life are worth looking at for my high use locations.

I've been unhappy with results from compact flourescents due to the slow turn-on times.

Does anyone have any experience with LED's? Any good online sources?

I use LED's on my service truck and trailers, but as far as home use, nope. I don't see 6 watts doing the job of a 75 watt floodlight. And LED's aren't "bulbs", they are light emitting diodes, and as you have seen, are expensive. Figure 60,000 average life, versus the equivalent price for regular bulbs for that time period. No contest.
