Hampton Bay Wireless Remote on Light Fixture

In my room I have 2 light fixtures that are on the same circuit. I recently replaced one with a Hampton Bay ceiling fan and light. Then I realised that it was impossible for me to have the fan on and the light off at the same time, because I could turn off the fan light with the wireless remote, but the other light fixture would remain on. If I turn the light off at the switch, the fan turned off.

I bought a separate Hampton Bay remote control unit to install in the other light so that when I dim the fan light, the other light will also dim. Here is my problem.

There is a white wire and a black wire that come from the ceiling. There is a white wire and a black wire that go into the wireless remote unit. I connected those together.

Now out of the remote is a black wire, a white wire, and a blue wire. The blue wire is supposed to be for the light, and the white and black are for the fan. I don't have a fan at this fixture, only a light. There is a white wire and a black wire coming from my light fixture. What wires do I connect to where?

I appreciate all help. Thanks.

At the light only location.

Remote blue to light black, and white to white. cap off the unused black on the remote.

Fan/light location: black remote to black fan cap the blue.
The black and white from remote, you understand go to the ceiling bk/wht.

Now you must leave the switch on,or theyr both useless.
If 1 remote can be programed for both units, Then the fan/lt unit connect that light to the blue aswell.

Now you can dim both lights and leave the fan on hi.
Some units this can be done.
