Temporary cans in ceiling

In my basement I am installing about 19 can lights (6"). I have built a soffit around my main hvac lines/plumbing in the middle of the room. Outside of that I am planning on installing a drop ceiling. Unfortunately directions with my cans say in install lights first in a drop ceiling and after in a drywalled ceiling. I have both on the same circuits. Whats the best plan? Is there a temporary way to hang cans before the drop is installed?
ps. All of my wire has already been installed in the ceiling. Just waiting to hook up the lights. Thanks for the help.

That's funny. I must have done it backwards. I put up cans in my kitchen before the drywall went up. I put up cans in a basement after the suspended ceiling went up.
Are you using new construction or old work cans?

Nobody installs the cans after the drywall unless they have no choice.

Sorry, wrote that backwards. Directions say to install cans first in drywalled ceiling, after for a drop. All cans are new construction Non-IC 6".

Still have the same problem. Does anyone know a quick, easy, non-permenant way to hang a can light? After the drop ceiling goes up I could then lower it back into position. Any ideas?

The non-permanent way to install a can is exactly the same as the permanent way.

"Basement"

RED flag, Make sure you don't need IC. Any contact counts.

Drop ceiling, wire them then drop them inplace.
