Light Bulb for Outdoor Lamp Post?

I am having trouble finding a replacement bulb for my outdoor lamp post. The bulb shows 24 V/50 W on it, but I cannot find any bulbs that match that on line or when I looked at Home Depot.

The light is on dusk to dawn if that helps. Any suggestions with a bulb that I could buy as a replacement?

This sounds like an oddly shaped or sized bulb. My father has an electrical contracting company. He can get things that are harder to locate as a common consumer. I would recommend possibly talking with a local electrician in your area who might be able to help you locate the right size bulb. Another suggestion would be to consider converting your lamp post to a more commonly used type of bulb. It may end up saving you money in the long run.

Are there any other numbers onthe bulb? What type of base does it have?
Here's one that is 24v 50 watt.

http://www.goodmart.com/products/215733.htm

There's more on this page.

Here's another one

http://www.lightbulbsdirect.com/page/001/CTGY/MR16-50W24V

And bunch of different ones

http://www.bulbs.com/Bulbs/20V_--_60V/40W_--_75W-/results.aspx

Google "24v 50watt bulb" and a bunch will come up.

Talking

french277V There are no other markings that show who made it.

Joed, The 24V that I found had the "pins" in them as well.. then I saw your link that had the ones with the "standard screw base" and wahla, that is what I need.

Took a picture of my bulb to show you what I have:

Thanks french277V. Have a problem where the bulb broke, but I put a regular 60 watt blub beside it along with the measuring tape to see if you can tell. Looks like about 4" tall.

Amazing, that this is so hard to find! This bulb has been in place for about 6 years, so hopefully I can buy one more and move before the next replacement - or, buy 2 when I find it so I have a backup just in case.

Thank you so much for helping me find this type of bulb!
