convert track lighting ceiling fixture to wall outlet?

Can anyone help with this? The guys at home depot couldn't even understand what I was asking.

I bought two track lighting kits and I was told they had regular wall outlet plugs. They don't, they're meant for wiring into the ceiling.

My apartment doesn't have wiring in the ceiling and I really like these track lights. Does anyone know what I need to do to convert the wiring? Do I need some type of transformer, or can I just splice in a regular plug?

Thanks!

Do not attempt to do this. You are renting. Using something in a manner not intended by the manufacturer carries enough risks when you own the property. When you are renting, you should never use any electrical device in a manner not intended by the manufacturer.

Many manufacturers of track lighting offer plug-and-cord power adapters for their products. The use of these is acceptable.

Of course you do need to use one that is either made by the same company or is endoresed by the same companay that made your track lighting.

Here is an example of a cord-and-plug set.
