sorting MR16s via Resitance Measurement?

I have a bunch of MR16 bulbs. Some are 20W and some are 50W but the markings are unreadable. Can I sort them by taking a resistance measurement across the pins?

What reading should I expect for each?

Thanks,

David

Might work. I never tried it. You would need one of each of the know wattage to compare to the ones you have.

if these are 12 volt lamps (which I believe most mr16's are but they are also available in other voltages)

20 watt=7.2 ohm
50 watt=2.88 ohm
