The strip light in my kitchen takes about a minute to come fully on and is then fine. Presumably I need a new starter, but I can't see anywhere to put it! Are they sometimes concealed?

Unless it is an old fixture, it likely does not have a starter. If it does, it should be visible(3/4" round aluminum can). Have you tried replacing the bulb??

Thanks 'Just Bill',

I haven't tried a new bulb since I assume they are more expensive than starters. Also once it's got going, the bulb seems fine.

Start by replacing the bulbs.
