Question ceiling fan ground wire?

Im putting a ceiling fan and light fixture in to my parents house, when i took the old light fixture off i noticed that the ground wire is bare copper wire. The ceiling fan requires a green wire. i just wanted to know if i can add a new ground wire and how would i do this? Thank you.

The ground wire in most houses is bare copper. Your fan wants a ground. It makes no difference whether the ground wire in ceiling is bare or green.

Question ceiling fan ground wire?

Well the ground copper wire is inserted in to each of the other wires, (white & black) then it just touches the metal outlet box is this safe, how would i be able to fix this. If possible i would like to add a new ground if called for. thanks

The metal box is supposed to be grounded.

Everything you have described sounds correct.
